Filth Fly Impacts to Animal Production in the United States and Associated Research and Extension Needs

Abstract Many flies are considered serious pests of livestock, poultry, and equids. These can negatively impact animal welfare contribute to considerable production losses. Management filth fly in particular, including the house (Musca domestica L.), stable (Stomoxys calcitrans (L.)), horn (Haematobia irritans face autumnalis De Geer) (Diptera: Muscidae), little or lesser (Fannia canicularis (L.)
